Extremely Rare Brunette Margaret - Faced Girl in Pink Flowered Gown from Madame Alexander's Glamour Girl Series, 1953. Walker Doll. This beautiful doll is 18" inches tall. She has a golden light brown curly wig in its original coiffure. She is wearing a lovely cotton full-length cream gown with flocked pink flowers, with coral and cream edging and fringe, hooped petticoat, panties, stockings and black front-snap shoes, black lace fingerless gloves, black taffeta fitted bonnet with black lace ruffle and velvet streamers, and hat box containing a small tag, comb, and set of curlers. This rare Madame Alexander doll is model 2001A from the Glamour Girl Series, and she is an especially elegant model. Also known as the "Edwardian" Glamour Girl due to her attire, for the past century, Madame Alexander dolls have been an iconic part of American childhoods. This model comes in two variations: blue floral and pink floral, which this doll is wearing. Important Details: This doll's face is in excellent condition. Her wig is shiny golden brown with original curls. Her face looks close to brand new, with nice matte finish, blushed cheeks, perfect red bow lips. She has gorgeous crystal clear blue eyes, nice full lashes, and eyes that open and close just as they should. The doll's hard plastic body is 18" inches tall and in very good condition, tiny speck on one arm. She is wearing a gorgeous crisp clean cotton dress of cream with pink flocked floral design, full skirt with fitted bodice that is designed with a sewn-in bosom, edged with fringe. The dress is in excellent like-new condition, free of stains, no tears or holes, vibrant color. Her ivory hoop skirt is still serviceable, but somewhere in her time, the frame of the skirt became bent, and does not stay down as it should, but could benefit from a stiff petticoat underneath to hold it as it should. She is wearing her original black bonnet trimmed in black lace in very good condition, except the original pink feather is in remnants. The bonnet is tied with a black ribbon. She is wearing her original silk-like panties, nylon stockings and her original shoes have been lost and replaced with vintage black shoes. She is wearing replacement black lace fingerless gloves and carrying her original Madame Alexander hat box with tag, comb, and curlers. This doll is not mint, but she is a lovely and rare example of a very early Madame Alexander Doll of the Glamour Girl Series. This doll came from a doll collector.
